Local vendors at Tropicana Field get major spotlight on Good Morning America

The team at Good Morning America have been going across the country to feature some of the best ballpark food around. Their latest installment, which aired on Tuesday, July 25, focused on the exceptional food at Tropicana Field in St. Pete. Yes, go to the Trop to cheer on The Tampa Bay Rays, but stay for the foot-long pretzel hot dogs and wild milkshakes by Beans & Barbour.

St. Pete sweet sensation Daddies Donuts was the first vendor to get some love during the segment. The locally owned business is a venture between four friends. Guests can enjoy glazed and chocolate frosted donuts at the park, in addition to several other signature favorites.

“Everything at baseball stadiums is bigger,” said Daddies Donuts owner John Miller. “Why not have bigger donuts?” Enjoy monster donuts covered in M&Ms, Oreo cookies, and a whole host of other fantastic toppings.

Raphael and Sara Perrier, the dynamic duo behind Kahwa Coffee, have brought their signature roast to the stadium. Kahwa began well over a decade ago in Tampa Bay, and today they are the largest independent coffee roaster in Florida.

“We feel that the coffee is a neccessity in the stadium,” said Kahwa owner Raphael Perrier. Having a fresh latte to go is the best way to perk up after that 7th inning stretch.

Chef Tok and Eric Bialik were on hand to represent Pacific Counter. The super popular poke bowl concept offers up a litany of hot dogs like the popular Bahn Mi Dog, and Cali Dog on a King’s Hawaiian roll.

Kevin Riley, one of the chefs at Tropicana was on hand to showcase the huge pretzel dog. Riley told Ginger Zee with Good Morning America that they only sell 98 of these gems per game. That limit represents the pitch clock, “and celebrates 25 years of the team,” said Riley.

They also went over the huge foot-long tater tot, which equates to about a half pound of potato. The treat is topped with bacon, cheese, sour cream, and scallions.
